1. Turn the phone off immediately.

If your iPhone gets wet, this is one of the first things you should do. Turning off your phone prevents water from entering your internal components and reduces the risk of a short circuit.

2. Remove your iPhone case.

When it gets wet, Remove any objects surrounding your phone ASAP. Taking your case off will help you find and dry any trapped liquids. Please turn it off until your phone is completely dry to ensure that any remaining moisture is removed.

3. Remove your SIM Card slot.

A SIM slot in a phone case such as yours can easily trap water. Locate your SIM slot after removing your case (if your iPhone has one). To eject the SIM, use a pin and dry everything off.

4. Wipe your iPhone with an absorbent cloth.

Dry it as much as you can, but try to use a piece of cloth that won't have lint trapped in any critical areas. A clean paper towel or microfiber are good options.

5. Let it dry for as long as possible.

Wait a week, if possible, to make sure your iPhone is completely dry. You should wait for at least 48-72 hours at the very least. Wait another 24 hours if there is any visible moisture. When it comes to technology, it's best to be cautious. If moisture gets into the circuits of a water-damaged iPhone, it will rust and perhaps short out your phone.

5. Wait a while before turning it on again.

Water is an excellent conductor of electricity. When an electrical charge is passed via a damp circuit, it can cause problems. We strongly advise against using a device that has recently suffered from liquid damage if you don't want to damage your motherboard.

6. Seek professional assistance.

If you have a broken phone, your best chance is to get help from a technician with vast experience with iPhone liquid repairs. Choose one with a good reputation in the repair industry and a price match policy to ensure you get a good deal. We recommend iFixScreens in your area!
